1. Who we are

LearnHero (“LearnHero,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) operates an AI-powered personal learning platform that helps you set learning goals, generate missions and courses, and track progress. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your choices.

2. Information we collect

Depending on how you use LearnHero, we may collect:

Account information: first name, last name, email address, and password (stored securely by our authentication provider). You may also provide an optional profile avatar.
Learning and mission data: goals and intake responses (including experience, focus areas, constraints, and notes), chat messages during mission intake, mission and course content generated for you, lesson progress, quiz answers and scores, time spent learning, streaks, activity days, and skill mastery signals derived from your progress.
In-product interactions: questions you ask during lessons (Ask), feedback and ratings on lessons, missions, courses, or the product, and related page context.
Billing information: when you subscribe to Pro, we and our payment processor (Stripe) process payment-related details such as name, email, subscription status, and payment method information. Card numbers are handled by Stripe; we do not store full card numbers on our servers.
Technical and usage data: session cookies for authentication, a timezone preference cookie, and local storage values used to resume intake sessions or remember UI preferences (such as audio playback speed). If analytics are enabled, we may collect privacy-friendly page analytics via Plausible.
Guest intake data: if you start a mission intake before creating an account, we may store that session so you can continue after signup.

3. How we use information

We use the information above to:

Create and manage your account and authenticate you
Provide and personalize the service — including mission planning, course generation, lessons, quizzes, skills, and recommendations
Generate educational content and audio narration using AI and text-to-speech providers
Process subscriptions and payments
Respond to feedback and provide support
Maintain security, prevent abuse, and improve reliability
Understand aggregate product usage (when analytics are enabled)
Comply with legal obligations

4. AI processing

LearnHero uses artificial intelligence to build missions, generate courses and lessons, answer in-lesson questions, create embeddings for search/recommendations, and produce narration scripts. To do that, we may send relevant inputs — such as your goals, intake context, lesson content, or questions — to third-party AI providers, which currently may include OpenAI and/or Anthropic, and Lemonfox for text-to-speech. Generated audio may be stored in our cloud storage so lessons can be replayed.

Do not submit sensitive personal information in goals, chat, or lesson questions unless you are comfortable with that information being processed to provide the service.

5. How we share information

We do not sell your personal information. We share information with service providers that help us operate LearnHero, including:

Supabase — authentication, database, and file storage
Stripe — payment processing and subscription management
OpenAI and/or Anthropic — AI generation and related processing
Lemonfox — text-to-speech audio generation
Plausible — optional privacy-oriented website analytics

We may also disclose information if required by law, to protect rights and safety, or in connection with a merger, acquisition, or similar corporate transaction.

6. Cookies and similar technologies

We use:

Essential cookies for signed-in sessions (via our authentication provider)
A timezone cookie (ath_tz) to display times and streaks correctly
Browser local storage for intake session continuity and certain UI preferences

If Plausible analytics are enabled, they are designed to measure traffic without traditional advertising cookies.

7. Retention

We retain account, learning, and billing-related data for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the service, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, and meet legal requirements. You may request deletion of your account and associated personal data as described below.

8. Security

We use industry-standard safeguards appropriate to the nature of the data we process, including encrypted connections and access controls provided by our infrastructure partners. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure.

9. Children's privacy

LearnHero is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us and we will take appropriate steps to delete it.

10. Your choices and rights

You may update certain profile information in the product. Depending on where you live, you may have rights to request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal information we hold about you, or to object to certain processing. You can delete your account and associated personal data from your Profile page in the product. You may also email admin@learnhero.ai to make a request. We may need to verify your identity before fulfilling a request.

You can cancel a Pro subscription through the billing flows we provide or via Stripe customer portal mechanisms we expose in the product. Cancellation stops future charges according to your plan terms; it does not automatically delete your account. Deleting your account cancels an active subscription immediately.

11. International processing

We are based in the United States and use service providers that may process data in the United States and other countries. By using LearnHero, you understand that your information may be transferred to and processed in locations that may have different data-protection laws than your home jurisdiction.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version on this page and revise the “Last updated” date. Continued use of LearnHero after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
